Coaching

In coaching a coach and a client engage in regular conversations over a period of time in service of the clients development. A good coach creates a safe space for reflection, where the client increases their self-awareness and takes responsibility for their expectations, challenges, goals, and achievements. The clients ambitions, goals and challenges define the topics of the conversations. The coach will keep confidentiality - the client can if she or he wishes share their outcomes and progress with members of their organization.

Coaching is an effective method in leadership development. Any leader’s personality, communication style, and temperament impacts that leaders direct reports, and oco-workers. As a leader you use your personality as well as your technical skills in interaction with your people. Understanding how you come accros, and how you are perceived by others is crucial.

We have yet to meet a leader without good intentions. We have, however, met many leaders who do not have the impact that they believe they have, or that they want to have. Through coaching, leaders increase their self-awareness, ¨ and work to align their impact with their good intentions.

Coach is not a protected title. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) facilitates certification of coaches. Toril Nygreen Grave is accredited by the ICF and holds the titles MCC and CPCC. Read more: http://www.coachfederation.org/about-icf/
